The HASSELL Melbourne studio is a collaborative environment that embodies the concept of 'one studio – many projects'. It reflects the practice’s philosophies and approach to design.
HASSELL has a process-led approach to each project, which delivers distinctive outcomes rather than expressing a prescribed style or philosophical position. The studio shows HASSELL working as a multidisciplinary design team, meeting its own strategic, conceptual, social, contextual and commercial aspirations.
Our key goal in this project was to create a sustainable workplace that exemplifies the HASSELL vision and the HASSELL Sustainability Strategy. Creating our own sustainable workplace allowed us to experiment with workplace systems and innovative methodologies while committing to the Green Star Office Interiors rating system.
We have designed the studio with the metaphor of the laboratory
in mind. The environment does not overtly express a personality,
but allows the design journey of exploring towards an unexpected outcome to take place.
